What is WhatsApp Cloud API in AutoForwardText, and how does it differ from a QR connection?

WhatsApp Cloud API uses Meta’s official WhatsApp Business Platform. Once connected, incoming messages appear in your AutoForwardText inbox and can be forwarded to destinations like email, Slack, webhooks, SMS, or another WhatsApp account.

QR Connection links an existing standard or business WhatsApp account using a linked-device style QR setup.

Which should you choose? Pick Cloud API if you want an official Meta Business Platform setup and are comfortable managing business assets and template approvals through Meta. Choose QR for a standard linked-device setup. Both connection types appear in the same AutoForwardText dashboard.

What do I need before connecting?

You need an active AutoForwardText account and access to the Meta Business / WhatsApp account you wish to connect.

How do I connect a WhatsApp Cloud API account?

Navigate to WhatsApp Accounts in AutoForwardText and select WhatsApp Business / Cloud API. Follow the Meta connection flow to log in, select or create your business assets, confirm your phone number, and return to AutoForwardText.

Can I connect multiple accounts?

Yes, as long as it fits within the WhatsApp connection allowance on your AutoForwardText plan. You can mix both QR-based and Cloud API accounts.
