Can I reply to messages received on a Virtual Number?

Virtual Phone Numbers provided by AutoForwardText are designed primarily for receiving messages and powering workflows such as:

• SMS to email forwarding
• SMS to WhatsApp forwarding
• Webhook integrations
• Missed call alerts
• Voicemail to email

At this time, Virtual Numbers do not support sending replies.

How can I send replies?

If you need two-way messaging, you should use your own Twilio number.

After purchasing a Twilio number and completing any required registration (such as A2P 10DLC for US messaging), you can connect your Twilio account to AutoForwardText.

Once connected, you can:

• Reply from message logs
• Send messages from the dashboard
• Create auto-reply workflows
• Build shared inboxes
• Send messages through APIs and automations

How do I connect my Twilio number?

  1. Purchase a number from Twilio
  2. Complete any required messaging registration
  3. Open AutoForward Text
  4. Navigate to:

Messaging Channels → Twilio Numbers

  1. Add your Account SID, Auth Token, and Twilio phone number
  2. Configure the webhook URL shown by AutoForwardText

After setup, incoming and outgoing messages can be managed directly from your dashboard.
